Rainer Sioda – Transatlantic Relations

Our perceptions of America are often constructed of stereotypical images and ideas semi-consciously cobbled together & evolved
into „beliefs” – beliefs informed largely by emotional focus as individual.
Each opposing-page of „Transatlantic Relations“ presents one photograph of America, and one from the greater Brandenburg area.
This layout and context encourages us to examine our own preconceived image-concepts between these two “lands“, as well as
ponder the possible origins of and stories behind these photographs on both sides of the Atlantic.

Rainer Sioda (* 1958) lives in Berlin. His photography has bee exhibted in many solo and group exhibitions: Berlintokyo Gallery, Weißer Elefant Gallery, Deutsches Architekturmuseum Frankfurt M., Kulturbahnhof Kassel.

PogoBooks is an independent publishing company focused on affordable limited edition art books, catalogues, editions and zines. The Berlin-based publishing-house was founded by Claudio Pfeifer in 2010.
