In der Ausstellung „Hinter den Wänden“ untersuchen 21 Fotografinnen des Kollektivs HERSPECTIVE das Nichtsichtbare und manchmal Unscheinbare. Die Frage nach dem „dahinter“, das Überschreiten dieser Grenze ist das Thema der Ausstellung und bildet die Klammer. 

Diverse Fragen bilden den Ausgangspunkt: Wie sieht das Glück aus? Julia Zoooi hat es in der Person des Herrn Lück gefunden. 

Gibt es ein Leben im Hospiz? Scarlett Werth zeigt Menschen, die am Ende ihres Lebens stehen und uns noch etwas mitteilen wollen.

Welche Geschichten haben Frauen in patriarchalisch geprägten Gesellschaften zu erzählen? Sandra Buschow hat Porträts von Müttern, Töchtern und Großmüttern in Georgien fotografiert.

Gibt es heute noch Gladiatoren? Meike Kenn hat sie in einer Berliner Sporthalle gefunden.

Weitere Themenfelder sind das Nachtleben mit seinen eigenen Gesetzen (Lina Grün), die Erinnerung an einen legendären Club (Katja Ruge), die Reise der Tochter (Rosa Merk) die an Stelle ihres halbseitig gelähmten Vaters, Orte und Menschen besucht, die ihrem Vater wichtig waren. 

Auf 270 qm werden vorwiegend Foto- und Videoarbeiten zu sehen sein – auch eine echte Wand (Lena Burmann) mit dem programmatischen Titel: „Die Wand, Substantiv, feminin.“

Die unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen und Umsetzungen laden zum Vergleich ein und versuchen zu ergründen – was befindet sich „Hinter den Wänden“?

Das Medium Fotografie wird immer dann spannend und einzigartig, wenn es Fragen stellt, ohne die Antworten bereits zu kennen.

Herspective: Das female artists Kollektiv versteht sich als Zusammenschluss von Fotografinnen um für mehr Sichtbarkeit, Vielfalt und Gleichberechtigung in der Foto-Welt zu sorgen. Die Fotografinnen zeichnen sich durch eine partizipierende Zusammenarbeit untereinander aus. Der daraus resultierende starke Zusammenhalt ist kein Zufall.

In the exhibition „Behind the Walls“ 20 female photographers of the collective HERSPECTIVE investigate the invisible and sometimes inconspicuous. The question of the „behind“, the crossing of this boundary is the theme of the exhibition and forms the bracket.
Various questions form the starting point: What does happiness look like? Julia Zoooi has found it in the person of Mr. Lück.
Is there a life in a hospice? Scarlett Werth shows people who are at the end of their lives and still want to tell us something.
What stories do women in patriarchal societies have to tell? Sandra Buschow has photographed portraits of mothers, daughters and grandmothers in Georgia.
Do gladiators still exist today? Meike Kenn found them in a Berlin gymnasium.
Other themes include nightlife with its own laws (Lina Grün), the memory of a legendary club (Katja Ruge), the journey of the daughter (Rosa Merk) who, in place of her hemiplegic father, visits places and people that were important to her father.
On 270 square meters will be mainly photo and video works – also a real wall (Lena Burmann) with the programmatic title: „The wall, noun, feminine.“
The female artists collective HERSPECTIVE sees itself as an association of female photographers to provide more visibility, diversity and equality in the photo world. The female photographers are characterized by a participatory collaboration among themselves. The resulting strong cohesion is no coincidence.

The different approaches and realizations invite comparison and try to fathom – what is „behind the walls“?
The medium of photography always becomes exciting and unique when it asks questions without already knowing the answers.
